New Post: Problem with Installer - Excel 2010 32-bit

Got it to work, here's what I did:

1) Removed via Unistall a Program (Win 7 control panel)

2) Opened Excel, opened a PowerPivot workbook

3) Double clicked on the DaxStudio.vsto file

It installed correctly with the add-in visible in the ribbon.

New Post: Is it possible to add common SSMS short code keys?

I think it would be great if we can add a number of commonly used shortcut keys such as:

  1. Ctrl+K Ctrl+C for commenting
  2. Ctrl+K Ctrl+U for uncommenting
  3. Ctrl+Shift+U for upper case
  4. Ctrl+Shift+L for lower case

Any thoughts?

<p>A column of Decimal Number type in PowerPivot and Format=Percentage is displayed as Currency when I evaluate the table in DAX Studio. It should be displayed as a Percentage in Excel, too</p>

Similar issue seesm to occur for Tabular Model. A calculated measure from AdventureWorks, "Internet Total Sales" has currency formatting. It seems that the output is displayed as plain numbers on both Excel table and DAX Output grid.

EVALUATE
SUMMARIZE(
'Internet Sales'
, "Internet Total Sales"
, 'Internet Sales'[Internet Total Sales]
)

It seems that the Columns inside the Table tree (left navigation) is sorted by name. However, the Caculated Measures are listed based on the order of creation. Is possible to add flexibility to toggle between the current default sort and a name based one for the Calculated Measures?

Would it be possible to display a warning dialog box if there is an unsaved script in DAX Studio? Quite a few times, I accidentally pressed close button and lose the work (I'm getting better at saving reguarly now).

Just an idea here, would it be possible to have source control integration? I think it would be nice to check in/out unit testing code straight from the tool.

Thank you!

In some cases the name of the Database (Tabular) can be quite long, especially when they are appended with the unique guid as workspace database in SSDT. Is it possible to resize the Database Name Dropdown Box to make it easier to see which database it is currently connected to?

I am a little unclear on what you are saying here - Should it say that users WITH rather than WITHOUT Dax Studio? Does ths mean I can edit a DAX Formula in my Excel and have it uload to Powerpivot? if so how

Hi, there.

I have the same problem as mentioned above. However, It wasn't sorted out by rebooting.
PowerPivot Version 10.50.4000.0 is installed in Excel 2010 and a PPVT model is in the workbook from where I am trying to open DAX studio. It opens correctly but It doesn't connect to the model unfortunately

I installed both versions (1.0.1 and 1.0.0) but I didn't succeed.

I hope somebody could give me a hand. Thanks a lot,

David

Do you have a Pivottable saved in the PowerPivot workbook. At the moment we can only find a PowerPivot model by checking all the connections on all the pivot tables in your workbook.

No, the query tables save just the DAX query and the connection string. This is likely to me more useful for people querying tabular servers as they can refresh the data in the table after the data on the server has been re-processed without needing to open DAX Studio.

We are actually looking to re-write our metadata handling to use the new CSDL metadata schema rowset which is the same information Power View uses to display it's field list. When this happens I suspect this will switch us over to getting a name ordered list. The current ordering is an artifact of us using some of the multi-dimensional schema rowsets to derive a tabular view.

Hi, all.

I had the PowerPivot v1 installed on my PC so I changed it to PPVT v2. Now Dax Studio seems to work :)

When installing DAX Studio (64 bit) for Excel 2013 64-bit I get the following error message

"A required component for interacting with Excel is not available. Please run setup.exe"

Any thoughts on what is causing this issue?

Excel version 15.0.4420.1017
